"Way Over" Rene Dupree, PCW GUILD WARS 2 June, 2012

Saturday 2 June, 2012 PCW, Preston City Wrestling, UK

Live report - PCW “Guild WarsIndy Wrestling Express
"Match 4 - Renee Dupree vs Max Angelus
Dupree is way over with the crowd. Lots of “Oui” chants, as well as every single GCSE French phrase or expression ever learnt. Angelus, replacing Terry Frazier, got a warm reception and gave Dupree a great match, pulling off the surprise win. The two shake hands in the ring afterwards, and we go to the interval."

“Thought Dupree and Max had a great little match. Max didn't look out of place with a WWE name, but then I didn't think he would, crowd were mainly for Dupree but that was understandable. Really impressed with Dupree, very good stuff from him and he seemed to enjoy it, an import name that I'd like to see used again, which isn't always the case with ex-WWE names. And it was fun shouting Allo Allo quotes  “

“Highlights from the evening for me: Dupree bringing some real star power to the show and of course his dance got a big pop..”

“Max vs Rene Dupree was great fun. It was odd because you never know how people are going to react, especially with some one like Dupree, but the crowd got behind him and despite a slow start to support for Max he did seem to get the people behind him by the end. Fun match, great fun and great to see Max get a match like this…..”

“an enjoyable outing from Dupree..”

"Max Angelis/Angelus (sp?) vs Rene Dupree, was really good. Rene looked every inch the superstar, and there was much discussion where I was that if he was a smaller guy in the E, then the bigger guys must be fricking huge. Really entertaining bout, I've read else where that he has won the Southside Title? So he is sticking about? It would be good to see him back at PCW. 'Oui Oui Oui' was massively over, but the random chants in french were awful 'Ou est la Gare' confused.gif. Dupree was all over the shop afterwards sporting the 'old', new PCW t-shirt and smoking like a chimney. Seems a nice guy mind and was chatting to loads of fans."

"Max Angelus def. Rene Dupree. Dupree was very over with the "Oui! Oui!" chants and his dance got one of the biggest pops of the night. Angelus looked good and while he didn't make an immediate impression with the PCW crowd, he managed a good reception to the victory ...."

Big Benny HG in UKFF - "Last match before interval was Rene Dupree vs. Max Angelus. They played it face vs. face, I guess since Rene had to sell gimmicks in the interval and at the tables, and Max, erm, I don't know. This factor, especially when you consider Max being unknown to this crowd, held it back somewhat, but it was still a fine bout that provided plenty of enjoyment. Of course, we got to see the French Tickler/French Stick Dance/Baguette Dance (copyright: gadge). In something that could probably only happen in a unique environment like this, many in the crowd were just shouting random things they could remember from GCSE French. Of particular note were the guy who kept shouting “OU EST LA GARE?!?” at various intervals (which I freely admit to finding a hell of a lot funnier than I probably should) and the group who starting singing “Frere Jacque”. A crowd that just wants to have fun, just like the FWA Broxbourne crowd circa 2003 and the IPW:UK Orpington crowd circa 2006."
